If you’ve ever visited Bald Head Island, then you know that Middle Island is the place where you will find privacy, solace and an environment to soothe your spirit. Maybe that’s why Nepenthe (pronounced Ne-pen-THAY) is so appropriately named from the Greek term meaning to chase away your sorrows.
This very contemporary home offers a unique opportunity to experience interesting architecture that takes every advantage of the amazing creek views visible from the home as well as a tree-house-like screened porch. At Nepenthe, you will find three bedrooms and bathrooms on the first (lower) floor. It’s a reverse floorplan, so the kitchen, dining and queen primary bedroom with en suite and large soaking tub are on the second floor. Wonderful deck and screened porch.
Nepenthe guests will have access to the Middle Island dock on Cape Creek Road for fishing and kayaking. as well as the private Middle Island beach access.

“We have rented on Bald Head Island for the last 25+ years and this was one of the top homes. There are great views of the marsh in a quiet location. The reverse floor plan put us all in one place for activities and provided quiet locations for those of us who needed to sleep (ie, the baby).
