Situated on the second street back from the beach, our Windansea home is a short, 2-minute walk down a wood-plank pathway to the pristine sands of Bald Head Island’s desirable East Beach. Windansea is aptly named as you can take in the ocean breeze on the upper observation deck while gazing out to the sea beyond. Its namesake is from another well-known beach our family frequented through the years from our original hometown of La Jolla, California. We are so excited to share it with you and your family. Windansea is nestled on a private, large lot, surrounded by trees and natural vegetation. So private, you hardly even know anyone is nearby. The home is laid out in a reverse floor plan with the primary living space on the second floor, which for our property is actually at the tree-top level allowing for sunlight to cascade in from the sunrise to sunset. There are dual Master Bedrooms both with King-size Beds and ensuite Bathrooms giving you the choice to sleep downstairs (closer to younger kids) or upstairs (further from older ones). The main living area is open, grand and can hold lots of people at any one time, making family gatherings super easy and all inclusive. And, our unique 3rd-story covered deck high above the tree-tops (affectionately called “the nest”) is really an extended outdoors second “family room” where you will likely spend a significant amount of your time relaxing and socializing. It is equipped with an outside kitchen, cushy seating and ocean breezes and views. We use this hard-to-leave location for morning coffee, afternoon napping, meal grilling, evening cocktails, and of course sunset watching.

And, if you need an escape or have a larger group, there is separate Crofter over the double Garage area that is the 5th Bedroom with an ensuite Bathroom, mini-refrigerator and counter. “Close but still away” is how we like to describe this private space. Plus, the Crofter Deck is where we sit on a clear evening to star gaze at the heavens above, counting our blessings after a relaxing day at the beach.
