The Bald Head Island Club
The pool at the Club is the place to be for relaxation and fun! The newly updated facilities include a heated 25-meter pool, a slide for children 10 and under, showers, plenty of poolside seating in both shaded and sunny areas, and a poolside deli affectionately called the “Peli”, for its delicious, well-priced food.
The Bald Head Island Club golf course winds its way over dunes, around lagoons, along the ocean, and through a maritime forest. It was recently rated the second-best golf-renovation in the country. Many of the holes are so undisturbed, they are bordered by the lively natural habitats of herons, egrets, foxes and alligators.
The four courts at the Bald Head Island Club’s Tennis Center were recently resurfaced with MondoTen. During the summer season, daily clinics, social activities, private lessons and programs for children 3 and up are available with one of the United States Professional Tennis Association pros. A Tennis Pro Shop features men’s and women’s apparel, Babolat tennis racquets, balls and accessories, and offers racquet stringing services.
The championship croquet greensward at the Bald Head Island Club regularly hosts United States Croquet Association tournaments and is the home greensward of several of the nation’s top players. Don’t let this scare you off; croquet at the Bald Head Island Club is open to beginners as well as seasoned veterans. If you’ve never played or just want to hone your skills, lessons and clinics are available and can be tailored to your skill level.
The Club’s fitness center is a busy place to be. Offering an array of cardio and strength training equipment as well as free weights and exercise balls, the center is more than adequate. Open daily year round, the fitness staff offers small group training sessions or one-on-one personal training. Protein drinks and snacks are available for purchase.
